CURRENT ALUMNI COUNCIL PAST PRESIDENT
UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SANTA CRUZ
I've provided leadership for the 10,000-member alumni association, working with staff of six, as a volunteer. Upon returning to California, I’ve invested much volunteer time at my alma mater, furthering a lifelong interest in bettering education and the access to it by the “new California”. On the Alumni Council, I’ve focused founding two new fundraising programs. The first is the Alumni Colleges Fund, supporting the unique learning-and-living residential colleges that are unique to the UCSC experience. The second is the First-in-Family scholarship fund, aimed at boosting financial aid to those California students who will be the first in their families to achieve graduation from a 4-year institution. My work has also included working with UC President Robert Dynes on system-wide priorities and the California Digital Library on an alumni access product
